In our classroom, we are introducing ShowTell by Amber—an educational visual whiteboard and voice recording tool for iPad. We want to share why we are using this app and how your child’s privacy and wellbeing are safeguarded.
Why We Use ShowTell in Class
Research shows that when children explain their thinking out loud while drawing, their comprehension and retention dramatically increase. ShowTell helps our students:

Explain Math Solutions: Narrate step-by-step how they solved an equation using fraction and counting stamps.

Document Science Observations: Take a photo of an experiment or nature specimen and label parts with arrows and voice annotations.

100% Offline & On-Device: All drawings and voice recordings remain safely stored inside the iPad. No files are uploaded to cloud servers.

Parental Gate: Any export or adult settings require solving a multiplication challenge to prevent accidental sharing.
